Harry Styles is starring in the movie his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde is directing. The movie apparently has a hot script. In fact, Netflix and Apple tried to gain the project. However, New Line Cinema got it.

Harry Styles is acting as Jack. Florence Pugh plays female lead by acting as Alice. Moreover, they play a a 1950s married couple.

According to the official logline, “A 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community begins to worry that his glamorous company may be hiding disturbing secrets.”

Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke wrote the original script. In the ’60s, The Dick Van Dyke Show was a populat sitcom. However, Katie Silberman rewrote the movie completely. Her script version has not been distributed widely.

In addition to that, the film took over the thriller genre with a mix of a socially conscious aspect. Equally important, the project captures the times of #MeToo and #TimesUp.

The Darling of The Movie

Director, Olivia Wilde emphasized that this is a ‘Pugh movie’.

“This is a Florence Pugh Movie in Which Styles Appears,” she said.

Moreover, she had this to say on her Instagram post;

“Little known fact: most male actors don’t want to play supporting roles in female-led films. The industry has raised them to believe it lessens their power (i.e financial value) to accept these roles, which is one of the reasons it’s so hard to get financing for movies focusing on female stories.”

Olivia praised her boyfriend’s acting in the movie. Apparently, Harry Style ‘infused every scene with a nuanced sense of humanity’. In addition to that, Olivia pointed out that Harry has the ability to drive backwards, making every one all the more curious to see this film. The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ seems to be a career changing movie for both leads.
