Movie on a Rooftop? Why Not?

With Summer hitting NYC faster than ever, one is determined to make the most out of it, whether it’s enjoying the summer breeze outside a coffee shop, or indulging in a cocktail at a rooftop bar, or even just strolling through central park. But when one goes to the movies, usually it requires a bit of time outdoor. Not anymore, as the Rooftop Cinema Club is coming back to NYC for a second year in a row to deliver great movies.

The cool summer breeze, popcorn and soda, a movie, and a breathtaking view is all one needs to make it a memorable summer experience. The Rooftop Cinema Club is providing New Yorkers with the chance to see movies such as Blade Runner, Taxi Driver, The Big Lebowski, and many more! For $30, one can sit back and relax with a small bottle of Moet & Chandon and buttered popcorn. Think it could it get better? It does! The doors open at 6 P.M. and one not only gets the breathtaking view of NYC but also gets to see the sunset as the movies typically starts around 8 P.M.. One is then given personal wireless headphones to enjoy the movie in their own tranquility and also to not disturb locals and other nearby rooftops.

The screenings will be held at Midtown’s Yotel, an affordable capsule hotel, terrace. The screenings begin in May and go until September. According to the website some screenings are already sold out, so if one if interested they may want to invest ahead of time. Other movies that will be screened are classics such as The Notebook, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, 5oo Days of Summer, and Dirty Dancing.

The OfficeOps in Brooklyn is also doing a few screenings as well. They will be screening 15 films and tickets are available for these screenings. More information is available below on their website. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie with a great view.
