Man Attempts to Climb Trump Tower

In Midtown, New York, a man was spotted climbing the Trump Tower on August 10, 2016. When the man was first seen, police attempted to reach the man on the sixteenth floor of the building. The man, now proclaimed as “Steve from Virginia” by viewers, brought upon a huge crowd on the streets of New York City.

“Steve” climbed the tower for over three hours before NYPD Emergency Services forcibly grabbed him from the twenty-first floor of the building.

Using just four suction cups and glass, Steve managed to climb up twenty-one flights of the Trump Tower, showing no sign of struggle or tiredness. While police opened up the windows of the twenty-first floor, blocking Steve’s route up, Steve decided to go around the officers. Officials tried to convince him to give himself up and offered to hook him in safely, but Steve refused.

During Steve’s three hour journey, he avoided responding to police officials or anyone who tried to talk any sense into him. However, he was motivated by the cheers from the crowd down below on the streets.

Viewers were unclear as to what his motive was to climb the tower. Many thought he was a Hillary Clinton supporter, but a video that surfaced on Youtube says otherwise. The man in video, believed to be “Steve,” reveals that he is indeed a Trump supporter. The following video explains why he climbed the tower.

“I’m an independent researcher seeking private audience with you to discuss an important matter,” he starts off. “The reason I climbed your tower was to get your attention. If I had sought this via conventional means, I would much less likely to have success because you are a busy many with many responsibilities.”

He ends his video by endorsing Mr. Trump and telling viewers to vote for him in the 2016 presidential election.

However, the audience applauded and praised Steve for his ability to climb the tower for so long with such little equipment. Climbing expert, Grayson Schaffer says, “it looks like he has four points of contact, which is two more than you need to climb up this building. He has the proper equipment so his safety is not in question. It’s more likely for him to fall from contact with the officers rather than the suction cups.”

When Steve attempted to climb around the open window surrounded by officers, NYPD quickly removed him from the outside of the building, safely placing him inside. The crowd cheered and the recorded scene is currently going viral.

What does “Steve from Virginia” want to say to Trump? Hopefully, Trump responds to his calling.

It was a good try, Steve from Virginia. Maybe Trump didn’t see your Youtube video, but you definitely went viral this evening in New York City.
