Almost four months after becoming the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump will be paying a visit to New York City, and the city is bracing itself for what could be a repeat of the months in between his win to his swearing in ceremony.
Get ready, because here he comes. Donald Trump will be returning to the Big Apple for what is meant to be his first trip back since becoming president. He will be coming back on Thursday and the city is already preparing itself for the protests, and nasty traffic delays in the most populous city in the United States.
With many protests that took place in front of his Fifth Avenue Trump tower, the same is expected, but not just protesters, admirers as well. Many of the protesters who have marched across the country for different causes, such as women’s rights, and climate change are planning a return to the building.
Although New York City is Trump’s home and his brand being associated with New York, a statistic reported said that less than one in five people had voted for him in the Big Apple, leading the way to a not very “warm welcome”.
On his visit, Trump is expected to be at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull where they will have their first in-person meeting after an angry and bitter phone call in January. Protesters are planning to gather right near the museum. The NYPD declined to comment on what else is in store for Trump and where else protests will be held.
A $61 million federal budget was resolved earlier in the week on reimbursing the city and local governments for the security provided to Trump and his building. This was all due to the transition period of his presidency.
