Our childhood memories of having an ice cream on a hot summer day never fade. What has been a tradition for as long as many of us can remember, still lives on as many of us still indulge in our favorite flavor of ice cream. For those who thought they could not get enough of ice cream, think again. A new museum is coming to New York City.

Just a short distance from the High Line, Meatpacking district will be the home to the “Museum of Ice Cream”. It is to open on 100 Gansevoort Street, and will be open six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.

The admission is to cost $18 for a single adult, $30 for two, saving you a little extra money, and $12 for children under ten, and seniors. Sound too good to be true? It is, as the museum will only open its doors from July 29th to August 31st. As they say, all good things must come to an end, and in this case, all good things must melt away.

For the price of the admission, one will be able to seesaw, and relive childhood memories on a ice cream scooper, or swing on an ice cream sandwich. According to the website, a rainbow sprinkled pool will also be part of the admission as guests are allotted to swim in the pool. A chocolate room will also be a part of the attraction, along with edible balloons, and a collaborative ice cream sundae. Sounds delicious? We bet it is.

The museum is set to offer a “scoop of the week” provided by other famous ice cream makers throughout the city, such as Black Tap, OddFellows Ice Cream co, and much more, according to the website.

Anyone who shows up between the hours of 11 A.M. and 3 P.M. on opening day gets free admission and ice cream.

So why not go and relive your childhood memories and learn more about ice cream and it’s treat that it gives to so many of us. To check out more information on the museum or to purchase tickets, click the link below.
