Wine and food are all one needs to be happy. Well, some. For New Yorker’s even though we’re picky, the Food network is enough to get us running out the door to indulge in any event hosted by the world-famous food company. We’re in luck, because come October, the Food Network is back to provide New Yorker’s with new tastes, new delicacies, and most importantly hopes in raising money for a cause.

On October 13th to the 16th, close to 100 events will be taking place all around the Big Apple, hosted by the Food Network & Cooking Channel. The purpose is to eat, drink, and most importantly, end hunger. Over the course of time, the festival has raised a very high amount of $9.5 million, in support of ending hunger.

The events will be held in various different locations, including iconic locations to offer a view while you dine and eat. Its main events will take place in Midtown West’s piers 92 & 94, which will kick off on October 13th with Italian cuisine. Barilla’s Italian Table will offer over 25 chefs from some of New York City’s best pizzerias, meatballs shops, and Italian restaurants, to give amazing Italian cuisine, with a stunning view of the Hudson River. Of course, beer and wine will be served as well to go with the concept of ‘drink’, and as always, responsibly.

The food bash continues on into the 14th with Pat LaFrieda meats hosted by Rachel Ray. This will be a little different, as top chefs will compete to receive the top honor of the Blue Moon People’s Choice Award. Last year the now very famous restaurant, Black Tap, won. The judges this year will be Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Strahan, David Burtka, and Josh Capon.

On the 15th, if you think you have what it takes to be a top chef, then you might want to not miss out on Rooftop Chopped, which will take place at Pier 92. One who attends this event will have the privilege of meeting show producers and casting executives and even audition for the show ‘Chopped’.

Lastly on Sunday, the 16th, it will all end with a family friendly affair, as the Coca-Cola Backyard BBQ will take place, as topnotch chefs Bobby Flay, and Michael Symon, will provide amazing food to complete the weekend.

So if you would like to attend this mouth-watering event, one can simply buy tickets on nycwff.org, as all information is available on the website as well. Who would pass on this exciting event? After all, a true New Yorker never passes on good food, good company, and a good time.
