The Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival wrapped up last week, a four-day event that has raised $9.5 million to help fight hunger. NYCWFF has been going strong for nine years and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.

The event donates 100 percent of its net proceeds to the No Kid Hungry campaign and Food Bank For New York City. The goal is to end hunger in New York City and the country as a whole. To date, NYCWFF has raised more than $1 million each year for the charities.

Boasting more than 100 events, NYCWFF is considered the largest food and wine festival in New York City. The festival offers food and wine tastings, hands-on classes and educational seminars. More than 500 of the industry’s finest chefs, culinary personalities and wine and spirit producers attended the event.

One of the largest attractions is the presence of multiple Food Network and Cooking Channel stars. Rachael Ray hosted her annual Burger Bash competition showdown on Friday. Joe Isidori, a chef at Black Tap Craft burgers & Beer, was awarded the 2016 People’s Choice Award. A panel of judges including Neil Patrick Harris and his chef husband, David Burtka, presented their award to David’s Café.

Shortly after another successful year of NYCWFF, Time Inc. Food & Wine announced it will be hosting the first ever Brooklyn Food & Wine festival next year. Food & Wine also hosts an annual Classic in Aspen. The inaugural event in Brooklyn will take place at Barclays Center on Feb. 17 through 19. The website expects over 150 exhibitors, cooking demonstrations, wine tasting, cocktail seminars and VIP events. Some expected guests include own Mario Batali, Tom Colicchio, Carla Hall and Gail Simmons. Tickets for Brooklyn Food & Wine go on sale Oct 20.
